Request attendance at an upcoming EMR, EMT, or AEMT skills session. Complete the form below to begin the eligibility and scheduling review process.
Eligible programs: EMR, EMT, and AEMT students.
Review period: Please allow 2–3 business days for a response.
Attendance approval: Submitting a request does not reserve a seat. Do not attend until Texas Rescue Med confirms your approved session.

Use the form to select your program and request a preferred skills session. Texas Rescue Med will review your eligibility, course progress, documentation, payment status, and session availability before confirming attendance.

What Happens Next?
01. Your Request Is Received
Your submission is sent to Texas Rescue Med for review. Submitting the form does not automatically approve attendance or reserve a seat.
02. Eligibility & Availability Are Reviewed
Our team reviews your course progression, pre-skills readiness, required documentation, financial status, program requirements, and available session capacity.
03. You Receive a Decision
Allow approximately 2–3 business days for review. Approved students will receive confirmation and any applicable instructions. If requirements are outstanding or the session is unavailable, additional action or an alternate session may be necessary.
Please avoid submitting duplicate requests. Submit one request for the session you would like to attend unless Texas Rescue Med instructs you otherwise.
SKILLS TRAINING SCHEDULES
Which Skills Session Applies to Your Program?
Skills sessions are scheduled educational events, not on-demand appointments. Your program, delivery format, and academic progression determine which sessions you may request.
EMT Skills Intensive
EMT skills training is conducted during a scheduled three-day skills intensive, generally Friday through Sunday, aligned with the EMT Flex Cohort schedule.
Structured Online EMT students may request attendance at an eligible EMT skills intensive, generally scheduled approximately every 10 weeks, after satisfying the required course progression and readiness criteria.
EMR Skills Session
EMR skills are scheduled through the published EMR/EMT skills training cycle, generally using the Saturday and Sunday portions of a shared skills weekend. Attendance requires completion of applicable coursework, readiness requirements, and prior approval.
Structured Online AEMT Skills Intensive
Structured Online AEMT students complete their required skills training through a scheduled six-day intensive, generally offered quarterly.
Separate weekend-only AEMT skills sessions are no longer offered. Students must meet the applicable readiness and progression requirements before being approved.
Hybrid AEMT Skills & Laboratory Training
Hybrid AEMT skills and laboratory sessions are incorporated into the assigned 18-week course schedule. Students should follow their designated Monday lab schedule unless directed otherwise by Texas Rescue Med.
Hybrid AEMT students should use this request form only when specifically directed to request a make-up, remediation, additional, or alternate skills session.
Session dates, available seats, required attendance days, and eligibility are determined by the applicable approved program schedule. The confirmed assignment controls over general scheduling descriptions.
General Skills Session Eligibility Requirements
Before requesting a scheduled skills session, make sure you have satisfied the applicable requirements for your program.
- Academic progression: Complete the required coursework and meet applicable academic progression benchmarks.
- Pre-skills preparation: Complete any assigned lessons, quizzes, examinations, assignments, or required readiness activities.
- Student documentation: Submit required forms, identity documentation, acknowledgments, and applicable supporting documents.
- Financial status: Meet the payment and financial clearance requirements applicable to your approved enrollment agreement, subject to governing law.
- Session assignment: Request a skills session appropriate to your program level and instructional delivery format.
- Administrative approval: Receive confirmation from Texas Rescue Med before attending the requested skills session.
STUDENT DOCUMENTATION
Background Checks, Drug Screening & Student Documents
Before Your Skills Session
Complete required coursework, meet applicable payment obligations, and submit your assigned student documents using the approved upload portal.
At Your Designated In-Person Session
TRM coordinates required on-site screening and initiates the Checkr background screening process. Follow any subsequent Checkr authorization and identity verification instructions.
Before Clinical or Field Participation
Required screening results and supporting documents must be reviewed and cleared by Texas Rescue Med before applicable clinical or field participation. Completing a drug screen or receiving a Checkr invitation does not independently establish clinical eligibility.
Need to Upload Student Documents?
Use the official Texas Rescue Med Student Document Upload Portal for required student records. Do not send sensitive screening documents through the skills request form.
