TEXAS RESCUE MED | INITIAL EMS EDUCATION
Build essential first-response skills with a scheduled Live / VILT cohort, structured online training, or a custom agency program. All initial EMR pathways include required in-person skills training.
One EMR credential. Multiple learning formats. EMR is a foundation for immediate emergency care and may be a useful starting point for volunteer responders, firefighters, law enforcement personnel, lifeguards, workplace responders, and future EMT students. Enrollment requirements, class schedules, and skills eligibility are confirmed by Texas Rescue Med.
CHOOSE YOUR LEARNING FORMAT
Both standard delivery formats teach the EMR curriculum and require an approved in-person skills session. They differ in how online instruction is scheduled.

MONTHLY ONLINE INTAKE
Self-paced progress within assigned milestones, monthly enrollment intakes, instructor support, and a separate scheduled on-site skills session.
Length: Up to 3 months
Next start: November 1, 2026
Enrollment: Open for enrollment
In-person classroom delivery may be offered through a scheduled or custom cohort when available. Agency programs may use their own approved calendars. All delivery formats remain subject to applicable program requirements.
CLEAR, CENTRALIZED PRICING
Amounts below are read directly from Texas Rescue Med’s Central Hub records. Payment obligations are governed by the approved enrollment agreement and Refund, Tuition & Payment Policy.
Collected separately from deposit
Collected separately from deposit
An application is submitted before the application fee invoice. Admissions review, program availability, eligibility, enrollment documents, and payment approval are separate steps. The initial-payment figures are calculated according to each program record’s configured fee-credit treatment; do not add the application fee again if it has already been credited to the deposit.
PUBLISHED SCHEDULES
Cohort starts, monthly online intakes, and required in-person skills sessions are distinct scheduling decisions. Displayed availability does not automatically enroll a student or reserve a skills seat.
Scheduled instruction spans six instructional weeks. Approved breaks or holidays may extend the calendar period. Students attend the skills session assigned to their cohort.
Complete enrollment by the published monthly cutoff for consideration in that intake. The planned start and student access are subject to enrollment clearance, holidays, and confirmation by TRM.
Next intake deadline: November 15, 2026
Students completing enrollment after the cutoff qualify for the following month’s planned intake. Dates are planning information only; acceptance, enrollment verification and course access are handled separately by Texas Rescue Med. Required skills sessions have their own schedules and eligibility rules.
Online EMR students must attend an approved Saturday–Sunday skills session on the shared EMR/EMT calendar. Skills are not available on demand; eligibility and attendance require separate approval.
Skills attendance requires separate eligibility review and confirmation by Texas Rescue Med. These dates do not constitute a seat reservation.
Regional partner cohorts may use a different approved on-site schedule. Confirm the designated training location and attendance days before applying or making travel arrangements.
The standard EMR course provides course access, instruction and resources, hands-on preparation, and evaluation in accordance with the student’s enrollment plan.
Complete required readings, assignments, quizzes, exams, and progression milestones by assigned deadlines.
Meet assigned academic, readiness, administrative, and skills prerequisites before receiving a confirmed seat.
Meet course, evaluation, and final skill requirements before TRM confirms completion and eligible certification next steps.
Clinical requirement: TRM’s standard EMR pathway does not include the ambulance clinical externship required for EMT. EMR students must still complete all assigned didactic and on-site skills requirements. Certification is a separate state/national process; completing coursework alone does not grant EMS certification.
GROUP & AGENCY TRAINING
Texas Rescue Med can coordinate approved EMR cohorts for fire departments, law enforcement, schools, employers, volunteer groups, public safety organizations, and other partners. Location, pricing, student minimums, delivery model, and schedule are determined during planning.
Available options may include on-site instruction, scheduled virtual sessions, group skills training, or EMR-to-EMT pathway planning. Mandatory program objectives, skills verification, and attendance requirements still apply.
Students attending in-person training should wear their assigned Texas Rescue Med uniform polo and professional EMS-appropriate pants with suitable black duty boots or shoes, as directed in the course LMS. Bring assigned learning materials, identification, and required equipment or documents. Follow your cohort’s final instructions if they differ.
COASTAL BEND PARTNERSHIP
Texas Rescue Med collaborates with Ross Training Academy to expand access to EMR, EMT, and AEMT training in the Corpus Christi area. On-site attendance dates, local clinical or skills arrangements, and available training formats may differ from the standard San Marcos-area calendar. Confirm your location and cohort details before enrollment.
